The IFA is one of the largest and most successful motor factor buying groups in the United Kingdom. The IFA used an externally hosted Microsoft Exchange service for handling emails and public folders for their 100+ members spread across 34 different companies. They also maintained a bespoke application for managing group deals which was integrated with the same Exchange account.
When the IFA went out to tender for the migration of the old environment to a newer version of Exchange including replacing Exchange Public Folders with SharePoint, AMT Evolve, a Microsoft Cloud Accelerate partner recommended moving to Office 365.
Having been successful in winning the tender, AMT Evolve carried out the migration successfully, moving all user email accounts onto Office 365, and assisting with the setting up of desktop PC’s, laptops and mobile devices with the new Email. Good communication of the change process to all users was paramount as the users were spread throughout the country at different companies.
The migration of the Public Folders and bespoke application to the SharePoint Online environment enable the IFA to utilise the new features of SharePoint for improvements in user management, alerts of document changes and daily or weekly updates of all changes which cut down on the amount on manual email traffic. Workflow is used to link documents to deals and the setting of individual user permissions.
The Office 365 tenancy is now being fully supported by AMT Evolve.
